About Staff Selection Commission (SSC): SSC was established in the year  1977 under resolution number on 4th November, 1975. The objective of the Staff Selection Commission is to conduct examinations for various posts. It makes recruitment for Group ‘C’ & Group ‘B’ Non-gazatted posts in Ministries and Departments of Govt. of India. The headquarter of the  Commission was in New Delhi. There are Nine (9) Regional Offices / Sub-Regional Offices of the Commission to conduct the examinations for various posts .  The states of  West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Sikkim and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands  are under the territorial jurisdiction of SSCER. The Eastern Regional office of the commission is  in Kolkata
